Software Function

Long RangePorts 1 to 4: up to 300 m. Long range performance may vary depend on camera model or cable condition.
VIP PortPorts 1 to 2: data on VIP ports is preferentially forwarded when bandwidth resources are insufficient.
Port IsolationPorts 1 to 4: port isolation mode to improve network security Ports in an isolation group cannot communicate with each other, but they can communicate with ports outside the isolation group.
PoE WatchdogPorts 1 to 4: auto detect and restart the cameras that do not respond.
Link AggregationLink aggregation is used to aggregate multiple physical ports to form a logical port for load balancing, bandwidth expansion, and port protection. Support static link aggregation. Support 1 aggregation group(s).
Loop PreventionLoop prevention is used to prevent the switching network from forming loops, which will seriously affect network communication. Disabled by default. Support 802.1D STP. Support 802.1w RSTP.
VLANVLAN is used for network scale planning and network health improvement. Support 802.1Q. Configurable VLAN ID from 1-4094. Support Trunk, Access port mode. Support Max. 32 VLAN.
HPPSupport one-click activation and remote management via Hik-Partner Pro. Functions supported: 1. Display the port rate. 2. Display the port bandwidth utilization rate. 3. Display the PoE power usage. 4. Display topology information. 5. Display the alarm status. 6. Restart ports and devices. 7. Enable port long-rage mode. 8. Remotely upgrade the device.
System MaintenanceSupport device management via web. Support DHCP Client. Enabled by default for dynamic assignment of management IP addresses. Support Super IP, which is a fixed IP address (10.180.190.200) for direct access. Support management via Hik-Central Pro. Support remote management via Hik-Partner Pro. Support cable detection. Abnormal open circuits and short circuits as well as network cable length can be detected. Support 802.1ab LLDP for peer device discovery. Support port mirroring for fault locating.

PRACTICAL ANSWERS

Network planning questions

Should I choose a router, a switch or an access point?

Start with the task: connecting networks, adding wired device ports, or providing wireless coverage. A single installation may need more than one device type. Share a site diagram and device list so the proposed roles and connections are clear.

Why is wireless coverage weak in some rooms?

Check the access point location, building layout, obstacles and the number of active devices. Measure coverage where people actually work before choosing extra equipment; changing the internet package alone may not address a coverage problem.

How do I select a switch for powered network devices?

List the devices to be connected and check each device’s power requirements against the switch’s per-port capability and total documented power budget. Also review uplink capacity and reserve ports for the expansion you actually expect.

Can the guest network be separated from business devices?

Define which devices and services guests should be able to reach, then check whether the router, switch and access points support the required separation. Test the resulting access rules; a different wireless network name alone is not the acceptance test.

What information helps plan a network upgrade?

Provide floor plans, current equipment models, internet connections, cabling details and peak device counts. Describe the applications that matter most and the observed problem, such as disconnections or slow local file access.

How should network performance be checked after installation?

Agree on the locations and representative workloads to test, then record wired and wireless results separately. Check connectivity, coverage and access rules during normal use, and retain a diagram and configuration backup for support.
